A Needed Cover Makeover

The Giant of the Tidesmouth has a new cover by the always-wonderful Graham Hanks.

It may take a few hours for it to trickle through Amazon's system and be reflected on the page, but soon enough this beauty shall replace the old, do-it-yourself-because-you're-too-broke-to-pay-an-artist beast.

Let's all just forget how the other one looked, eh?

Hoping for a fever?

Was a bit under the weather on Sunday, but sadly not enough to think about taking the day off of work. It's an oddity of where I'm at in life - wanting nothing so much as to write for hours - that I was hoping to get more sick, so I could justify calling in sick (with the painful little caveat that I really couldn't have afforded that time off, anyway...).

In other news, the cover for "Three Fingers of Death" has been finished by the wonderful Graham Hanks (same artist responsible for the glorious Le Morte d'Arthur cover). Barring some calamitous event, I will be formatting and publishing Three Fingers of Death tonight!

I'm excited to release this one to the world. My beta readers have told me it's some of my best writing yet. It certainly is more overtly fantastical than Swordsman of Carn Nebeth, though retaining a lot of the humble feel.

The third story in the Wandering Tale, "The Giant of Tidesmouth" has been underway for some while now and will hopefully be published by the end of March. Getting covers made at this pace is difficult... I might have to fall back on creating my own, for awhile. I can always replace them later with better, commissioned work when I have the cash.

What's that? You want to see the cover? Oh, very well. Since you've been good:

eBook Cover of Swordsman of Carn Nebeth

Viewed the finished painting that is the cover to my first big self-publication, and it is beautiful.

The lettering is currently placeholder, but is a good representation of the final product. I can't express just how much I love this cover - the artist basically brought out my exact mental picture of it.

Expect "The Swordsman of Carn Nebeth" to hit Amazon and other markets soon!

Pretty Pictures and eBook Formatting

Finalized the cover for my first published story. You may note that I published it before now, and that is because I didn't know I would have a better cover until yesterday. Here it is, in all it's glory:

A pretty drastic improvement over the crap I put up at first. I love finding helpful artists! This is the work of the excellent Graham Hanks. That is a link to his website. Visit. Oggle. He branched out a bit with me, having not done much in the way of sci-fi visuals. Some people have all the talent... not that I'm complaining.

In this case.

In other news, I'm experimenting with the formatting of my first eBook a bit more. Trying a few tips and tricks I've found in the dark corners of the net. After I dusted them off, they seemed like they might actually work. I want my books looking as professional as possible. I don't want any of that 'self-pubbed' stigma getting on me. It's a bitch to wash off.
